My name is Tummas Kastalag. I was born in the Faroe Islands and spent my childhood between England and the town of Klaksvík in the Faroe Islands.

Growing up in a seafaring community, I developed an early appreciation for practical engineering by sailing and fishing with my father. Those experiences taught me hands-on skills—from repairing boats and fishing gear to building structures—that continue to influence my engineering approach today.

I later studied mechanical engineering, specializing in machine design, steel structures, and marine machinery and structural design.

Four years ago, I relocated to New York City with my family, where I now work as an engineering consultant. I am currently completing the final step toward obtaining my Professional Engineering (PE) license in Mechanical Engineering.
